Berlin’s looking nice this time of year!

Twelve months ago, dotall, the conference for Craft CMS developers looked like it would become part of our annual calendar. In what feels like no time at all, the 2nd dotall conference takes place in Berlin and is now just 10 days away! As we did last year, we’re delighted to be supporting the event again as a bronze sponsor.

It can be unusual for conferences like this to make their way across to Europe. Without highlighting the obvious logistical challenges of planning an event from a different country, a conference is of course nothing without its attendees. While there is wide adoption of Craft CMS outside the US, it’s testament to the culture of Craft’s development team Pixel & Tonic, that opens the opportunity of attending the conference to new communities.

dotall 2017 took place in Portland Oregon.

Anyone who attended dotall in Portland, Oregon last year would agree it was a fantastic inaugural event. This year’s conference however brings together an incredible array of knowledge and experience from talented strategists, developers and speakers, both from within the Craft and wider web communities, all willing to share their time, knowledge and experience across 3 days of workshops and talks.

The final day of talks will headline with an update on the State of Craft from Pixel & Tonic founder and CEO Brandon Kelly. In a year when Craft 3 was released and Craft 3.1 preview has just been announced, Craft Commerce 2 is rumoured to be in its final beta and the Craft Partner Programme in the midst of an overhaul, there will be plenty of news to share to an eagerly anticipating audience. It will also be great to hear about how Craft’s usage has grown recently as well - this is often a question we’re asked and although there are statistics available from places like Built With, hearing the names of prominent brands and companies that have recently adopted Craft is always a fantastic show of confidence in the platform.

Other talks I’m personally especially looking forward to are Prioritising the Author Experience by Katie Fritz, and Courtney Bradford’s talk on Design Processes and Systems in Craft. With a few commerce sites under our belt as well, Stephen Callender’s talk on Building a Smarter Craft Commerce Website will also be of interest. Thankfully, with so much content on offer, each of the talks will be recorded and released after the conference, and for those unable to be in two places at the same time (day 2 is a two-track schedule) there’s no need to miss out on anything.

Palais Kulturbrauerei FB

Palais Kulturbrauerei in Berlin, the venue for dotall 2018.

We’re delighted to offer our support to Dotall again and can’t wait to join in the chatter at the beautiful looking Palais Kulturbrauerei in the heart of Berlin. With Craft CMS being our go to platform for our projects, and our commitment to team development, we’re taking our developers across to Germany too, which means that from the 25 - 28 September, we’ll only have limited cover in our studio. We’ll of course still respond to emails and any requests as quickly as we can, but please bear this in mind if you’re a client of ours.

The value in these events is incredible, so thank you to Pixel & Tonic for bringing Dotall to Europe - we can’t wait to learn, share and see what’s in store for Craft CMS over the coming months. We’ve made loads of friends through the community and I’m looking forward to meeting new faces, either from behind a chilled glass, or in the conference hall!
